A letter to your future self is the simplest time machine ever invented. You write down what you're feeling, hoping, fearing — and seal it for delivery on a date you choose. Months. Years. A decade or more. When it lands in your inbox, the version of you who reads it will know things you don't know yet, but they'll also remember things you've forgotten. The letter is the only bridge between the two.

People write these letters for different reasons. To capture a moment that feels too important to lose. To make a promise to themselves that they want to be reminded of. To tell their future self what they're proud of, what they're afraid of, what they want to keep working toward. Some write at the start of something — a new job, a new city, a new relationship. Others write at the end of something, to mark the close of a chapter.
